El Nino has certainly been giving the Bay Area a much needed shower and in addition to quenching the thirst of the parched landscapes around town, it creates a fabulous environment in which to search for houses. If you are a buyer this is a wonderful opportunity for you to see how the home performs in harsh weather conditions.
Does the roof leak? Does the basement flood? How about the siding and the windows? Is there water pooling around the perimeter? Does the yard turn into a virtual swamp? A little observation goes a long way! Granted, it is impossible to know everything about a home even with the most thorough inspections, but rain gives you a leg up before you even start down the path of offers and inspections.
